If you need gas while you’re here, head to the far west side of town

Pawnee Indian Village’s excavated floor of a large Pawnee earth lodge is the museum’s most remarkable feature. Feel the spirits of the past while walking the perimeter of the lodge and view the rare sacred bundle that hangs above the altar. Open seasonally, so please check before travel.

Snow Goose Lodge has an amazing clock tower covered bridge located south of Courtland.

Courtland Arts Center holds monthly events for patrons.

The most prominent limestone structure in southwest Republic County. The rock was quarried three miles west and hauled with hammer and chisel. The alter painting was done by Birger Sandzen. Church historians are currently translating the church board minutes from 1873 to the 1920s from Swedish into English. The completed translation will be presented to the Kansas State Historical Society.

Football, volleyball, basketball, concerts, etc. 

The Pike Valley baseball program consistently makes the Courtland and Scandia communities proud.  Summertime games are played at the baseball fields in the southeast corner of Courtland and the ball field in Scandia.  Follow their active Facebook presence to get all of the details.

A popular place in the summer for all Courtland youth and visitors since it’s founding in the 1970’s, the Courtland swimming pool is always busy.  Open from the time school dismisses, to the time just before school starts, come check it out!
